which naturally meant that I couldn't get to the plot to do much yesterday due to the Glasgow Walk which was gathering at the local park just around the corner. Much mayhem and closed streets in surrounding areas.
However, lovely colleague donated half a dozen or so fence posts to the cause, so in exchange for 4 heads of garlic (which I forgot to take round to him) I have sufficient material to build the fence between me and the lovely Mr Secretary. Two big sheets of corrugated metal should keep his weeds at bay !
Will hopefully get up there today to start the project. Pure sunny blue sky 45mins ago, now first big cloud has come over. Still you don't need sun to dig holes do you ?

An ickle bit of history about the ickle lottie
As soon as I started planting things in the garden at the beginning of last season, I just knew I was going to run out of space. I was right (well, I'm never wrong am I ?). So almost immediately I started searching for a lottie.
I had a choice of three in my area. One never responded, one's waiting list was closed and then there was my third and final chance ! I jumped on the waiting list at No. 21 and it's taken just about a year to get to the top.
I got a letter early this week asking if I was still interested. Well I can't say that during the last year, I had made up and un-made up my mind a dozen times whether I had the energy left to take on a plot, but curiosity got the better of me, and the sleeping urge started getting stronger again. One plot offered was like a football field, a second was like Steptoe's yard, just full of cr@p. Neither of those filled me with joy. So I pretty much jumped at the chance of my new baby lottie. It's only a 1/4 plot, but far more manageable for me. I reckon that even if have a disastrous season, we'll be feeding half of Hillington (at least I hope so).
